Digital Channels Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The platform stated the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to check their listings and update the measurements by hand if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Updates Before the change, the measurements included one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Stories Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Manual Updates Another shopper, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she said. Platform Context The platform boasts over 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options after backlash from users.
